About the role:

The Growth Strategy will be responsible for defining the overall SEO/SEM, ad spend, and pricing strategy for Perch. The ideal candidate will have a highly analytical approach and a holistic understanding of and experience in driving traffic and conversion in ecommerce. This includes SEO/SEM, product/brand marketing, cross-platform ad strategy and attribution, and pricing strategy and measurement. Given the stage of our company, candidates will need to be comfortable both thinking high-level and also rolling up their sleeves to get things done themselves.

Job requirements

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will report directly to our CEO. You will own development of our approach to traffic and conversion, execution of your strategy, and rapid iteration to test and learn, driving constant improvement.

  • Lead design, development, and execution of Perch’s growth strategy initiatives, including SEO/SEM, ad spend (cross-platform), and pricing
  • Develop KPIs and leading indicators based on key value levers and institute a data-focused and fast-iteration focused approach to driving value
  • Outline strategic vision and roadmap for T&C initiatives, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with company and other functional goals
  • Unpack Amazon’s organic ranking algorithm in a way that allows us to optimize ranking and gain / maintain market share with only highly targeted ad campaigns
  • Develop integrated approach to driving growth and consistently high market share that balances on-platform ad spend, off-platform marketing, and pricing that maximizes contribution margin
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to develop technology to run large parts of our SEO/SEM/pricing strategy across hundreds and thousands of products with minimal human intervention

About You

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and driven professional to help lead the build out of this function. The ideal candidate will have significant analytical experience, experience in digital marketing (preferably including SEO/SEM experience), and a track record of dealing with ambiguity and starting from scratch (whether in an entrepreneurial environment or building new things within a larger organization). They will be motivated by an opportunity to break the mold and ride the edge between speed and scalability.
